No way, no how. My birthday was over 5 weeks ago, and I am still getting happy wishes from alumni. Don't ever tell me that we're not a FAMILY. And the latest comes from two members of the glorious class of 1972! How can I ever thank all of you for being so thoughtful? The AA is alive and well, and Dan Smith and George Suter prove the point. Figure it out - that's 40 years ago!  I love you guys and I love all of you. Don't ever think that you have to wait until a milestone birthday to write or call. –Mr. Jeppi.

So Mr. Perry ‘90 came up to the office area and had a special guest - Anthony

Fann D1'13.  Here's one smart gent.  He took advantage of early enrollment

by doing something that is rarely done. He called, made an appointment and

brought his first attempt at a resume for us to peruse. John Perry

took the time to review it and made a few meaningful observations. Anthony

left smiling because he had accomplished a couple of things - a visit and a

critique of his resume (which was pretty darn good for a first attempt).  By

golly when we tell you that we are here to help, WE MEAN IT.

The Admiral did triple duty on the 4th. Besides meeting with Anthony Fann,

he also jumped in and hosted William Holley D1'13.  William had called and

scheduled an appointment  to visit with Papa (Dennis) G and the TV majors, since that's William's major. Problem is Mr. Greensfelder ’06 wasn't here to approve the appointment and we didn't remember that TV was scheduled for a field trip on Friday, the 4th. They were at Fort Meade with their cameras, for an

award ceremony.  But thanks to Mr. Perry and a couple of News/Sports folks,

William had a wonderful time and later told us that he really enjoyed

himself and learned quite a bit.  We've noticed that each year, more and

more "in-comings" are taking us up on the standing invitation to visit and

make contacts. And quite frequently those people are alumni working in the

field and NEVER have we ever had one of you refuse to help a "newbie".

The AA Fund Drive is well underway for 2012. Remember this year we did an

article in the Bengal Bulletin. Lois Carrigan ’96 sent out a Constant Contact reminder. We’re counting on YOU to respond.

Recently we have received donations from Jess Byrum ‘ 07 (Professional), Ed

Watts ‘ 77 (Pre-eminent Benefactor) and Colleen Carew-Marcellino ’83

(Professional).  Remember - the Fund Drive closes May 31st so send your

scholarship contribution in asap. God bless and thank you,

Another thoughtful message from old friend John Coiley. John said,

"to be part of the BIM organization ('82 E-2) is a gift that  is eternal... thank you for that"... John.

This month marks the 1 year Anniversary for Insight on Disabilities. If you’ve been reading our posts on Facebook and the Weekly Update faithfully, you’ll quickly recall that Mike Gerlach ’81 hosts the show on WCBM every Sunday night. He has had several BIMers help him, like: Brie Gebauer ’12, Ay Warshaw ’09, Brent Tarring ’10 and Harry Cook ’10.

Congratulations to Bruce Hoosier (D1'12) who has been hired by Howard Community College as a TV-Reporter for the Dragons Lair Update Show.  Among other duties, Bruce will be doing stand-ups.  Having completed the BIM 600 hour program just a mere two months ago, Bruce is really on his way.

Some alumni visits are a surprise and just plain nice. Today, May 1st, was a perfect example. We heard laughter and happy talk in the hall and shortly thereafter, in glided the lithe and lovely Katie Arnold D1'11.  Why the superlative

description?  Simply because she IS and more so because this was her first

real journey back into the real world after recent back surgery. We last had the pleasure of her company last fall, but she was in such obvious discomfort, we couldn't really enjoy the brief stopover. All that has changed now since her operation.  She is no longer on pain-killers, she now is able to drive. "I'm happier than I've been in a long time", she assures us. The love of

her life, her little girl, Nevaeh, is now 7 and acting quite grown up,
