Hope all of you BIMers had a safe Labor Day weekend.

Ashly Smith ’08-

On Labor Day Mr. Jeppi and son John, Jr. headed for M&T Stadium for the big Navy-Maryland football game. They stopped before the game at former Colt Don Shula's Restaurant, just blocks from the ball park. Immediately upon entering, they were greeted by a very vivacious, attractive hostess who showed them to their seats.  As they took their places, the young lady smiled and enthusiastically said, "Mr. Jeppi !!!"  He recognized her as ' 08 BIM graduate Ashly Smith.  They hugged and chatted and she promised to call him and think about returning for the GRO program.

Ashly intro'd them to their waitperson, Evette, who was very friendly also. When the time came to pay the bill, she warmly stated that, "it is taken care of."  You see, John Jr. was dressed in his Naval uniform and the restaurant wanted to show their support for our armed forces.  What a wonderful touch and far better than dessert.

Brad Christman ’88-  Mr. Jeppi sent Brad a sympathy card immediately after finding out that his father had suddenly passed away on August 15th of this year. In return, Mr. J received a very heartfelt e-mail. Brad has been a very loyal alum. For two years in a row, he has paid extra for reunion tickets for needy students or graduates. Our deepest sympathy to Brad and his family during their time of need.

Tom Murawski ’92- Tom was in the area and decided to stop by and surprise BIM with his presence! Tom is currently working in the Science Field at BioTek in Baltimore. He is a Lab Certification Specialist. When telling us about his new position, Tom referred back to something Mr. Jeppi told him eighteen years ago. That was, “You never know where a broadcasting backround will take you.” Before he left the office, Tom recognized Career Coordinator, Alvin Leonard ’78 from their time spent together at WCBM Radio.

Harry Kleiman ’73- BIM would like to extend our condolences to Harry, from the class of 1973. On September 3rd, Harry lost his wife, Marcia. The services were held at SOL Levinson and Brothers, Inc. on Reisterstown Road.

Andre Malone ’10- This weekend, Dre was sent to Timonium Fairgrounds on assignment for Fox 45 News. He shadowed a few of the photographers for the event and was shown a new way of editing. Dre also recorded former Governor Ehrlich and current Governor O’Malley.
